About the event
The Beach Lifeguard training is aimed at teaching you the knowledge and skills that are necessary to supervise the beach and to act adequately in case of calamities. Physical fitness is essential when taking this course. An important part of the exam is therefore a swimming test where you have to swim 400 meters within 8 minutes and a run-swim-run. The entire Beach Lifeguard course is practical in design; the theory is directly converted into practical assignments as much as possible. This way you learn to apply the new knowledge immediately. Topics covered during the training are: risk assessment, currents and tides, use of aids, meteorology, rescue procedures, cooperation with other emergency services, preventive action, signals, first aid, etc. To participate in the course you must be 16 years or older and in possession of a swimming certificate. The course in Scheveningen is a shortened course of 4 days, including exam. The certificate is valid for 2 years. In the sea we do the Rescue board & Surf Rescue modules. You learn to perform rescues in more difficult circumstances (at least 1 mtr waves) with and without aids. The tools are a recueboard and recutubes. Because this course includes a full first aid training, you can sometimes get a full or partial refund of the course costs from your health insurer. This depends on where and how you are insured. The price for this short Beach Lifeguard course, including registration, exam and certificate is 475.00 euros (p.p.). The certificate is valid for 2 years. If you have any questions about this course, please send an email with your name and telephone number to info@lifeguarding.nl. You can register for this course via the link below.
